Hello,I have suddenly encountered a problem trying to open any of my word files. I have all of my files stored on my Microsoft One Drive, which I have also installed on my desktop. Today, when trying to open any of the files I got themessage that 'Additional permissions are required to access the following files'. When I try to give permission, all of the folders and files are grey so I am forced to 'cancel.'

Then a message entitled 'Microsoft Visual Basic' appears with this note: Run-timeerror '75': Path/File access error. Then the only option available to me to is 'Abort' The document does actually open but certain features aren't available and the document gets quite slow. I have basically no computer knowledge so I reallydo not know what to do.

Hi Glinds05,Thanks for your reply.Based on your screenshot, we found there is an error message said “Run-time error ‘75’ Path/File access error”, you may check the following information:1. The file specification isn't correctly formatted.A file name can contain a fully qualified (absolute) or relative path.

A fully qualified path starts with the drive name (if the path is on another drive) and lists the explicit path from the root to the file. Any path that isn't fully qualified is relativeto the current drive and directory.2. You attempted to save a file that would replace an existing read-only file.Change the read-only attribute of the target file or save the file with a different file name.At the same time, you can go to Help Check for Updates to update the Word to the latest version and see whether the problem still persists.Regards,Tisky. You have two distinct problems to solve:1.

Error in Visual Basic code1. You most likely encountered the permissions requests when you updated Mac OS. Apple requires 'sandboxing' which means now only certain locations can open without getting special permission from you for each file.

If you use the Documents folder as thestorage location, you should not be prompted for permissions.2. Visual Basic error. If you see this same error with all documents, you somehow got VBA code into your Normal template. The Normal template is opened each time you open Word. To get rid ofunwanted code in Normal, open a new, blank document.

Choose Format Styles and click the Organizer button in the lower left corner. Then select all modules listed under Normal.dotm and delete them. Then quit Word. If prompted whether or not to save changes to Normal, save the changes to make the deletion permanent. If there is a module that you actually expect to be in Normal, then you'll have to fix the code in the module to get rid of the error message.
